Travers Manor General Information

PictureOne of two main entrances, this being at Tompion Lane which is the closest entrance off Church Street/ Route. 9N coming from downtown Saratoga Springs.
LOCATION: There are two entrances to Travers Manor that both intersect with State Route 9N (aka Church Street) located in Saratoga Springs, New York:
  1. Tompion Lane
  2. Jaipur Lane
In addition, there is a third street in Travers Manor, which is a cul de sac located just off Tompion called Alydar Court. All street names are derived from winners of the famours Travers thoroughbred horse races at Saratoga Racetrack. (See History of Travers page for more about the famous racetrack and names.)

DEVELOPER and BUILDERS: Travers Manor was developed by Farone Brothers (1984-85) who received a certificate of incorporation from the State of New York, laid out the streets and arranged for City of Saratoga Springs and other utility services. Initially National Grid provided electric service, and The Travers Manor Board of Directors under the direction of President Marvin Crystal later arranged for the addition of natural gas service, which was completed in 1994.

Travers Manor contains townhomes built by three builders: Bayport, Masullo Brothers and Charlew.
The westernmost street, Jaipur Lane, was the first section of Travers Manor to be completed and contains many homes built by Bayport Builder from Church Street to the intersection with Tompion Lane. After meeting Tompion Lane the first time, Jaipur then turns east to meet Tompion Lane for the second time in the center of the development.

Most of Tompion Lane, located at the easternmost part of the development, and curving at the southern end into a large cul de sac before meeting with Jaipur Lane, contains homes built by Charlew Builders. Charlew-built homes are from Church Street to approximately the final part of the large cul de sac. Charlew homes end and Masullo Brothers homes (see below) begin at this point. After a stretch of Masullo homes on both Tompion and Jaipur near the first intersection of these two streets, Charlew homes reappear at the very end of Jaipur Lane where Jaipur for a second time actually intersects with the easternmost part of Tompion. The Charlew homes are some of the most numerous homes in the development and were completed in 1989.

Alydar Court, a cul de sac at the front of the development off Tompion, also contains homes built by Charlew.

Last but certainly not least, and chronologically the second group of homes completed at Travers Manor--built after the Bayport models but before the Charlew models--are the Masullo Brothers homes located at the middle of the development . The Masullo homes are on both Tompion and Jaipur: just north of the curving cul de sac of Tompion before it meets Jaipur, and on Jaipur just east of Jaipur's 90 degree turn to the east after intersecting Tompion. The Masullo homes are an eclectic group of townhomes that are architecturally unique.

(See the Official Documents page - Handbook - Offering Plan - Sletches of Floor Plans - for the various home styles of each builder.)

1962 Travers-winner Jaipur received a plaque at the Saratoga Walk of Fame in 2015 and the namesake, that was chosen by the initial developer, has been a primary street in Travers Manor since 1985.
